Jabbawockeez Battle of the Year 2014 | jbwkz.com
Thinking about America’s Best Dance Crew Season 1 on MTV takes me way back. Oh MTV… a station that used to play music. What?! I digress, sorry. I remember watching it and celebrating with the Jabbawockeez as they became the show’s first champions. They have gone on to find well deserved success. I saw their Vegas show a couple years ago and give it big thumbs up. They have seen some members come and go but, to my knowledge, the current members include Rynan “Kid Rainen” Paguio, Joe “Punkee” Larot, Jeff “Phi” Nguyen, Kevin “KB” Brewer, Phil “Swagger Boy” Tayag and Tony “Transformer” Tran. This video is great. Watched in complete focus from beginning to end. Seeing dance like this and the incredible amount of passion and dedication put into it makes my soul eternally happy. I like the purity and fluidity in particular. It is a melody of moves. Makes you nod your head and move around in your chair. Now THAT’S the power of dance. To inspire. I have yet to see their new show at the Luxor Las Vegas but plan to very soon!!
The Bloody Beetroots | Demos
I first stumbled upon this AWESOME DJ after hearing The Toxic Avenger “Escape” Bloody Beetroots remix. Then I proceeded to start listening to all his stuff. Kick ass. I’m in a trance as we speak, listening to his soundcloud as I type. No better feeling than getting lost in music. It’s euphoria. Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo is his name. And he brings it hard to electronic contemporary music. He is currently on tour in Europe this July thru October. I hope to go to one of the shows! As I previously stated in Next Time, I have yet to attend a show in Europe be it a DJ or band. I have not been to Europe period for that matter. Definitely plan to this year. It will be quite the experience. So stoked. Take a while to get sucked into his music, it’s a good time.
Kerby Rosanes | Sketchy Stories
A friend of mine showed me Kerby’s Society6 store and I fell in love with his doodles. So intricate! I myself am beginning to dabble in pen drawing so I took a liking to this artist. He is a Filipino Freelance Illustrator. He began doodling as a hobby and it turned into a full blown career after receiving much acclaim. Go Kerby! His medium is simple black fine liners. His sketchy stories tell a tale of vibrance. Black and white is sophisticated and timeless. I currently have a phone case designed by him and am purchasing a few more products.
