The arts have been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. Creativity drives passion. This is a weekly look into the world of artists in music, art and dance and what they create. Feed your imagination!
Yanis Marshall | Baby One More Time
Yanis Marshall and his choreography encapsulate fierceness at its best. I love watching him move. It is intoxicating. This video is a great throwback to miss Britney Spears. She is a gem to the dance community. Great to see this performed at Millennium Dance Complex, a local studio here in North Hollywood. His heels class always kills. Yanks hails from Paris, France and has seen continued success in the exciting world of dance. He was a finalist on Britain’s Got Talent in 2014 and is currently a choreographer for the Cirque Du Soleil show “Zumanity” in Las Vegas.
Zeds Dead | Fav Track: Collapse 2.0 (feat. Memorecks)
“It seems we built this from nothing but broken dreams
These memories we’ll forget but that’s all that we hope to see
I got my future and it’s ticking, life is yours if you live it
You wish you could plan it different but fuck it, that’s how you miss it”
-Zeds Dead “You and I”
I discovered Zeds Dead on Spotify radio. I think it was the Diplo station. I favorited a few of their tracks and became an instant fan. I feel like you know if you like a band/DJ once you hear 10 seconds of a song. Yay or nay. This was a big yay for me. Their sound is smooth and I dig it a lot. Would LOVE to see them live. The two Canadian DJ’s hailing from Toronto, Ontario are Dylan Mamid (aka DC) & Zach Rapp-Rovan (aka Hooks). They have been working together since 2004. Cool vibes.
Okudart | Vibrant Art
I have been an avid fan of Spanish artist Okudart for quite some time now. HIs work is breathtaking. So vibrant and alive it breathes life into the world. He is from Madrid and does some fantastic creations. I would be proud to hang some of these works on my living room walls which will be happening very soon. In the process of redecorating. Street art excites me and colors inspire me. Embrace international art and the artists that create it.
